Did you have damage to the roof from hail or something?

Did you go through your insurance?

If you have a good roofing company that knows the ropes, you shouldn't have to write out a dime's worth of your own money on a new roof.

Had hail damage, used insurance, wrote check for deductible, upgraded shingles, got larger check back from roof company.

Replacing a house with 2 ACs is the single biggest expense a homeowner will have to pay.

Next time just replace the AC units instead of replacing the house. :)

Imagine if TD would start a Home and Garden Board. That would be great.

Bruh? Blue tarp!

Depending on where you live people will be jealous of your shiny, non-torn tarp.

It is trashy to ask why something is trashy.

Tell your insurance company, potential drastic discount for a new roof

Also if you are using architectural shingles, let them know that too

Splurge and get the Class IV shingles, you should get a reduced insurance premium that will kind of offset the cost over time.

I am actually doing it partially so I can shop around. I may have told a little fib about my roof age that was never checked out.

I say may have because I have no idea how old the roof is.
And fraud cases are only pursued when there is a payout involved based on false information. The insurance companies have little interest in pursuing a fraud case against someone who has never made a claim.

"you shouldn't have to write out a dime's worth of your own money"

That's called insurance fraud. If your roofer says he's doing that....then he's committing fraud. Read your policy
