Nicholson Drive and Lexington Lakes Avenue
WBRZ was wrong. Happened between entrance to U Club and new alvarez neighborhood south of Lexington. I live in Lexington and pulled out of our entrance about 10 min after it happened. Had 3 fire trucks and multiple cops at that point down there. Traffic was just starting to be diverted at Bluebonnet.

What do you call drivers that do 10% less than the speed limit, because all the people behind them shouldn't be in a hurry anyway?

From uclub/lex cross neighborhood mom text thread, sounded like impaired driver. On of the wives husband's was a few cars behind the person and said he was swerving and passing people. The husband called 911 and wreck occurred when he was on the phone with the sheriff.

Were you doing 45 in a 60? Maybe varying your speed between 10mph under, and 5mph over the limit while you were browsing the OT?
No I was going 55 because St. Gabriel PD will pull you over for going 56

I've had an assload of people like you that are doing 52 in a 65 or 70, because you're distracted, absolutely farking up traffic for miles behind you on beltways, interstates, everywhere. You should move to Austin, where they like doing under 20mph in a 35 and wonder why traffic sucks.
Get your face out of your phone, and actively drive. You create more traffic by cutting the vehicle capacity of the road by driving too slow.
None of this should be construed to think I support irresponsible passing, though. Thankfully, in TX, we usually have a passing lane every few miles on two lane roads, particularly where there are agricultural activities that have big trucks merging at low speed on high speed roads. But Louisiana can't do shite, so color me shocked. LA30 has been a high risk road for 30 years. LA has other priorities. Should you spend more money on a BR loop study? Sounds like a plan.

Who said I supported that? That’s WAY slower than the 10% I said would be legal earlier.

And you know I’m distracted how? I’m never on my phone when I’m driving. But of course you think you know everything bc you are probably one of the know it all narcissists mentioned earlier.
Anyway, it sounds like this was a case of a drunk driver. Very sad situation for everyone involved.

In a 35 minute drive on an Interstate yesterday, I counted no fewer than four cars (at night) which didn't have lights on. And every day I drive I'm surrounded by a certain population that uses "STUDENT DRIVER" magnets as their excuses to never check their mirrors, merge, etc.
So, I'm message board angry. At least on my way to Honeywell/AlliedSignal back in the day, people weren't on their fing phones. Maybe it's because I'm in the burbs and surrounded by female drivers it's gotten worse.
Similarly, does anyone really have a problem understanding how dangerous it is to have a 65 mile an hour speed limit, and have someone doing 61 (under 10%!) even on a four lane road? This starts the cavalcade of braking, lane changing, and badda bing, you have farked up traffic for ten miles.

Do we know yet whether the deceased is the reckless driver or the helpless victim they ran into? Really hoping it’s not the victim..

Curious also. Do we have names yet?

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash on the evening of Saturday, September 16, according to Louisiana State Police. Troopers said the crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. on Nicholson Drive south of Bluebonnet Boulevard in East Baton Rouge Parish. According to LSP, the crash claimed the lives of Stefan Valentine, 34, of Baton Rouge, and Claudette Holmes, 45, of Carville. Authorities said that just before the crash, Valentine was driving a Toyota 4-Runner south on Nicholson Drive, while Holmes was driving a Mazda CX5 north on Nicholson Drive. For reasons still under investigation, Valentine crossed over into the northbound lane and crashed head-on into Holmes’ vehicle.
