This is one of 3 stadiums that Frisco ISD football gets to play at. Yes it is the Cowboy's STAR facility, but the city and school were genius IMO when they gave Jerry Jones 25 million in tax credits to build it and attract the Cowboys to move to Frisco.
This allowed the Frisco ISD to have an indoor stadium that they can use anytime for football games, graduations etc. and only paid 25mil for it. It's a top notch facility and they do not pay 1 penny for maintenance and up keep.
They also use Toyota stadium where FC Dallas plays and the Frisco Bowl is held each year along with the FCS National Championship game. Again another top stadium that the school district doesn't have to pay to maintain.

Because West and South Texas bring down their average
There was a 17 consecutive year period where the NFL Super Bowl had at least 1 starter from not only Louisiana but between New Orleans and Lafayette area. Some of those years upwards of 5 starters (NY Giants vs New England).
LA football talent, culture and breed is 2nd to none. LA population is less than Houston’s.

Heck, just the concrete alone around all of those stadiums probably cost more than any here in SWLA.

Yeah, the high school my wife graduated from in Texas. They just built a new indoor football practice facility and it pretty much is on par with most SEC schools. Texas HS Football is pretty next level

Texas high school football is "off the chart". Especially if it's two major city rivals. I thought it was a minor college game I went to. 25k people with hundreds of supporting band members, flag corp and cheerleaders. Oh, the stadiums are just like minor college stadiums. I was blown away.

I used to joke with my wife about the facilities. If you were a football player in Frisco or Allen, or McKinney Texas, and you went to a smaller D1 school, the letdown in facilities would be dramatic..

Lots of haters in this thread, crapping on talent level, academics, etc.
Community tax dollars pay for it. The people suggesting that an education is sacrificed haven’t ever set foot in one of these buildings. I’ve seen some beautiful performing arts centers, black box theaters, libraries, cafeterias complete with a food court. They’ll have the latest technology available for the kids.
Hell, I work in an inner city district and one of the schools has a planetarium. You’re behind if your stadium doesn’t have artificial turf, press box with elevators, and video replay board.

Oh 100%. I thought I went to a big HS until I visited her school. Even with all the upgrades my HS just did it still isn’t even close.

Also its effort, they just put forth the effort to do things, all schools can do similar things, they are just lazy

I can't imagine going to a school like that.
Our pep rallies where in the auditorium, our "sound system" was someone's boom box with a microphone (attached to the auditorium speakers) held in front of the speakers and playing something like "We Are the Champions," "Welcome to the Jungle," etc as the team slow-walked in.
#1980s
3A HS in N Alabama in the 1980s. We had our own rock band playing for pep rallies and the school had its own locally composed fight song and alma mater. Of course the HS was located in, at the time, the Hit Recording Capital of the World and the rock band was composed of the sons of dads who played recording sessions for the Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, and the like......
High Schools in Texas are BIG. Allen, according to Google, is now at 7k students, 40% growth over what another poster gave. I'd bet the laser light show was courtesy of someone's Dad's local business and written off as a marketing expense, which it legitimately is. They probably field 3 football teams, 6 soccer teams, two full bands with varsity marching ~600 kids, multiple dance and cheer teams, etc, etc. That's just the way big schools work here.

If the fan support is there, why does it matter what talent level they produce? Community support and involvement at the level that demands a stadium like that is awesome.
For 95% of kids that play there (home or visitors), that will be the greatest memory of sports they will ever have.
