Would you be with a girl who is morbidly obese if you guaranteed in 4-5 years she would lose a ton of weight and become pretty attractive? I'm talking about a very slow transformation.

In 4-5 years, you’d barely still be attracted to her if she’d been a supermodel from the jump. That’s just how it goes. No point in wasting the first couple years when you’re most hormonally attracted to someone with her like that unless you’re into her as she is.

I’ve actually seen this happen before. Fat chick and nerdy guy dated throughout high school. She suddenly found motivation to lose weight, loses around 100 pounds and immediately becomes a hot chick. Looked good in a bikini and everything. No more than 6 months later, she broke up with him for better options

Yeah, I've seen this once. One of my best friends converted a fatty somehow. I know there are concerns a girl like that will get fat again or end up cheating on you, but she is a good chick and they've been married almost 20 years. So, it's possible to pull this off, but I think it's like a 1 in 100 shot of making it work long term.

Nah, I'd rather just be cordial but chasing others while she was fat. You can't go into any relationship expecting to seriously change someone. Once she pulled off the transformation I'd be more than willing to THEN make a pass at it, playing off of the previously friendly base.

I have a friend who was morbidly obese until he became an adult. He decided that he wanted a wife so he lost 170 pounds. He became a tall, blond and very handsome man.
Trouble was he had extra skin on his arms, stomach and legs. He spent $10K to get the extra skin removed and is now happily married to a good looking woman. It can be done.
