What does he want to major in?

Why not just let him do what he wants to do?

I understand Tech's appeal, but ULM? I'd rather go to trade school.

It's really like picking bama vs auburn. They're both great schools with very different cultures

had a guy i worked with partime while in college tell me he was going to la tech. I was at ULL at the time and said dang man thats quite the drive from lafayette to ruston weekly. He then proceeds to tell me la tech is short for louisiana technical college at lafayette. i was about to give him props until he said that .

If I grew up in BR the last damn school I'd go to would be LSU. Go somewhere else, get away from your parents.

I went to both UL and LSU. Enjoyed both. Would send my kid to either.

If it was free I'd send to LSU but I'd encourage him to look somewhere that isn't a total shite show.

What's his desired major? If it's Computer Science or Petroleum Engineering, I'd say ULL. Anything other than that, go to LSU.

If it's a Liberal Arts degree he's after, push him towards the armed forces

I recommend either. Our daughter graduated from UL for her bachelors and is in year 3 for her doctorate at LSU.

I don't care where you send your son, but send your daughters to LSU

I'd tell him avoid college unless he wants a technical degree(medicine, law, accounting...) For the price the average degree(tuition) from almost any university is it's almost worthless today. As an LSU grad I would rather hire "experience" in today's economy in a non technical field. I can train a HS degree in field at a cheaper price than hiring an entitled college grad with a business degree.

How about you let your son decide where he wants to go to school?
