I love Appalachia, but it's a little too crowded for my taste, and while it still has a lot to do, the Rockies beat it for pure outdoor pursuits.

I miss the culture, food, and history; I wonder if I made the right decision sometimes. Reckon I am lucky regardless.

Last time I went back home to Louisiana(just over a month ago), I smelled way more weed in 4 days than I ever did anywhere during my 10+ years living, working and travelling the Rockies.

The Rockies, but its stupid expensive and is an Democrat state.

Do yall realize the Rockies are more than just Colorado as the Smokies are more than just Tennessee?

Wyoming and Utah are two of the most conservative states in the nation.

Blue Ridge, where I am.

I'm in close proximity to all the places I love: mountains for hiking/camping/biking/offroading, big cities for sporting events, museums, big shows, wineries/cideries/breweries/distilleries all over, strong local music scene, rivers/lakes and the Bay for recreation. Close enough to drive to see my Tigers play in various sports occasionally (saw the championship baseball team play in Columbia in May).

Travelled and lived out West enough to know I'd get bored pretty quick if I lived near the Rockies. And no, living in Denver doesn't qualify...I'd never leave my farm for a big city.

I've lived in Louisiana and Houston for the majority of my life. I just recently moved to Boise,ID and it has been glorious.

So my answer is definitely the Rockies. The weather has been exquisite. I woke up this morning to 58 degrees and sat an my back patio and drank coffee with basically no humidity.

It is basically a desert climate so it has warmed up to 94 degrees today, but that dry heat truly makes a difference.

We are looking forward to skiing this winter and being a short drive from it as well.

We went to Gatlinburg a few years ago and the heat and humidity sucked...
