I really didn't like Houston. But I hate country music and pop music, so it wasn't my kind of place.

Atlanta isn't cold as frick. It rarely snows. It rarely drops below 35 degrees and most of the time it's in the upper 40's and 50's.

Houston to me is a more laid back city with better professional opportunity, so best of both worlds there. I also appreciate the amount of LSU fans there. Atlanta is more aesthetically pleasing for sure.

Houston as a young professional was awesome. I'm in Los Angeles now and the vibe is much tougher. Way more competitive but that keeps it fun too.

I am from South Louisiana, so yes, ATL winters suck.

Atlanta because of proximity to mountains.

Also, at those insinuating there aren't blacks in Houston.

There's something to be said for having four seasons though.

ATL without a doubt. More opportunity. Better lifestyle and living arrangements. Houston doesn't even compare.

I would probably visit both of them before deciding. I've never been to Atlanta, so I can't say much about it. I have been to Houston and it wouldn't take much for Atlanta to beat it out.

Houston vs. Atlanta

#8 on the Atlanta side may swing your vote.

Houston is great but I can see why people would like Atlanta better.

Atlanta is a prettier city. Houston's flat surface and no city zoning can create some really ugly spaces. See Shepard Drive north of I-10 (but that is slowly getting re-built).

I believe the opportunity in Houston is much better. while down right now, O and G is still a very dynamic industry that will continue to grow. Medical Center is the largest in the world and is about to get 50% bigger.

4th largest economic force in the US. about to pass Chicago in population and economics. next 10 years.

Atlanta probably does have better looking women.
Atlanta probably does have better suburbs.
Atlanta does have a better college sports scene.

I think I am in Houston for the long haul. so I have my favorites. both have a great airport system so I can get wherever I need to go.

Hill Country Texas is great and Austin is equal to Charleston in terms of having a fun city to visit on the weekend.

That being said I can imagine myself retiring in the south. or at least relocating somewhere there when I want to slow down my lifestyle.
