It's just far for me. I live on the lake about 4-5 blocks from Wrigley so I would have to take the red line downtown and then get on the blue line to the bar. Nothing too bad, but might not be worth the trouble for ULM

Edit: Btw I'm jealous of both of you. My place in River North fell through at the last minute so I had to scramble and get my place in Lakeview

The "North" and "South" are large areas.

There is a big difference in climate in lets say S. LA and N. Tennessee or S. New Jersey and N Wisconsin.

First 18 years in North Dakota. 10 in Virginia, last 30 in Shreveport. I'll take Southern weather any day.

I liked the southern climate until I moved to California and realized how shite southern weather really is. I doubt that I'd ever move back to the south or even to the north because both are just too hot. For me the west coast is the best as far as NA goes.

Southern California > Hawaii > Northern California > South Fla > SW US (AZ/NV/NM) > Southern US > PNW > Northeast > midwest > Alaska.

I wouldn't. Coastal areas, and the far northern areas up around Shasta start becoming more PNW-like so you're right in that regard. Aside from SF "Northern Cali" usually refers to Sacramento, Davis, Folsom, Yuba, Chico, Napa, etc which are all way better off weather wise than Portland and Seattle. (imo)

Sacramento weather reminds me of weather here in the deep south that has been improved by removing humidity, raining less, and cooling off at night. Of course it's not hard to get snow by driving 1 or 2 hours east into the Sierra Nevada mountains (ex: Lake Tahoe.)

I guess San Fran pops into my head first when I think Northern Cali, but you're right about Napa, Sacramento, ect.. being a different climate

SF is very similar to Seattle IMO, so that's why I said that
I think the PNW is great but I see why people dislike it
