Yeah, but not every billionaire is all over tabloid news.

How often do you really hear about a guy like Trevor Rees-Jones?

There's a bug difference between him and other billionaires like him and the ones I listed previously.

But you couldn't be an unrecognized billionaire per the stipulations. You have to be world famous.

$500M in anonymity all day

Billionaire could own a sports team. $300 million doesnt get it done.

And to be honest, we need more famous people like me instead of all the famous douche bags out there.

Millionaire will suffice:

1) Buy Tigerdroppings.com
2) Fix the search function
3) Sell for billions

Billionaire, I could easily buy enough land to keep away from the plebs.

Again, what is famous? Furthermore, Billionaires are in the news because they want to be. Trump, Gates, Cuban etc. are busy and like to be in the news. 3-5 years of staying quiet, and they are like ghosts.

Take the Waltons for example, rich as heck and extremely famous I'd say? I wouldn't recognize one of them if I was checking out at Walmart next to them.

The Koch Brothers, worth like $70 billion and very famous during election time. I cant remember what they even look like.

It would be much worse to be a famous millionaire than billionaire. Once you get billionaire money, you aint buying your own groceries and going to average joe restaurants unless you want to. I mean you want a nice steak as a billionaire? You have your private chef make it for you. All I'm saying, is billionaire buys you a ton more privacy than some athlete like say Tebow that is worth $25 mil. That would suck.

Billionaires don't go to airports. I mean, they aren't running into paparazzi unless they choose to. They pull out of one gated place and into another.

300mil is well into "frick you money" territory.

$300mm is largely seen as the threshold to have your own capital Management group, which can afford you enough to be very comfortable.

To give some perspective on $300 mill vs 1 Billion:

I'll take anonymous Phil Mickelson money any day.

$300m would still let me have everything I want other than a private jet. It would take more than twice that to afford a jet.
I could still have a collection of exotic cars and a $200k home hifi.
My family could have everything they wanted.

You could still fly private by chartering a plane. The average is about $3-5K per flight hour for a small plane.

Whether I was a millionaire or a billionaire, I wouldn't want to have an extravagant lifestyle.

Another thing is knowing that even though you wanted a simple life, you know in the back of your mind that could buy that $25m jet if you wanted it.

I would certainly try that once. Delta even has that service.
