There is a bar/sport shop across the street from the old Rosenblatt stadium in Omaha that had a sign in the window.
"We reserve the right to bend your cap, if you enter the premise with a flat bill."

Yes, I never did and never would but it's not that big of deal to me. You have to let kids be kids to a certain extent.

My 7 year old has three of them.
There's lines I will draw with fashion but a particular style of hat is not one of them.
He has tried to sag his shorts twice. He survived my reaction to seeing that but just barely.

Didn't we all used to wear flat bill hats when we were younger?
It's only been cool to curve the bill in the last 20 years probably.

I never did. I'm 30.

Ricky Fowler and his Puma sponsorship money says whats up.
I would not take something so trivial and make it alienate me from my son.
Now if he was in his 20s sporting a flat bill we would sit down and have a conversation.

I think it looks really really tacky and dumb. You might as well tape a giant dildo ontop of your head while you are at it, it looks that ridiculous.
I guarantee you that someone else feels the same way about your attire. Doesn't matter if you are a dirty hippy or if you are the guy in the $3,000 suit... someone thinks you look like a douche. The key is to not give a shite what other people wear.

I wonder if people were this upset when kids started curving their bills? What about when plain white Nikes with crew socks were no longer in style?
Just accept it. You are getting old.

How about every other golfer with a curved bill? they say hi right back.

Flatbills have been a part of baseball for decades. I have no issue with them in that context. Plus, it's a goddamn hat, dude!

I hope I'm raising my son well enough where it will never be an issue.

Impossible.
So you pre-dated the curved bill fad and didn't wear a hat until then.

My 6 month old wears a tight flat bill. dwi

It's cyclical. Dont freak out about it. In 5-10 years the curve bills will be cool and flat bills will be nerdy again. Just look at old baseball cards and you can see the hat styles changing every 10 years or so.

It literally isn't, and I have little league ball pics to prove it (which are not getting posted of course).
maybe I set the trend and didn't know it.

I call bullshite. I didn't starting curving my bill untill about 4th grade. Hats didn't come with a natural curve then. You really had to work for it, and many kids incorrectly folded the bill.
