Machette is nice too, but I would try to build with sticks I could break by hand.
Not many weave a mat from sticks and vines. this is a must. You can't just sleep on the ground out there.
A fire starter is the second tool I would need. (though I would try and learn primitive fire starting)

I've always wondered what it paid. fricking unbelievable that they're going through that gratis. I guess I can see how the chicks are trying to parlay their naked renown into a paying TV gig but that's less likely with the guys. Are they that desperate to see a naked woman? And a sweaty naked woman covered with bug bites at that? (Although there has been real talent on the show.)
