Only from trusted sources who I know have tried the batch. In the 80-90s I’ve bought “coke” off the street from strangers. Will never do that again.

Depends where I'm at. Columbia? Hell yes. An 8 ball of street coke here? Hell no.

Not today, fed

Read the stories about drug busts on your local news websites. Almost every bust involving cocaine also involves heroin or fentanyl. Your dealers who deal cocaine don't just sell cocaine. And when you have a one-stop shop, you run the risk of cross contamination. Not worth the risk imo.

Speedballs (usually bought by the “hit”) are some people’s drug of choice and very much lend themselves to being “spiked” with fentanyl or, by accident, just overly-potent with it. Fairly common to see folks use it around New Orleans when I was in med school, particularly on ER and psych rotations.

Rings true in practice. I don’t really see people who want coke (or crack, even) end up with anything but that on a UDS when they tell me what’s been going on. I haven’t had/seen any “mix ups” from those just wanting coke.


I don’t know what it is with meth, though. I don’t know if it’s who chooses to get on it, who’s making/selling, or what. But there’s no telling what the hell they’re getting. It does tend to be more stimulant-based than mixed with any sort of downer that I’ve seen to date,


But whatever gets passed as street heroin is terrible and usually seems to be more fentanyl than anything else (I’m not GC’ing to identify compounds or part of anything more than a group that offers MAT once someone has been in/out the ED on a Narcan adventure).




But in terms of wanting a speedball, that’s usually pretty widely available and almost certainly mostly fentanyl on the “downer” side from what I’ve seen. But people are buying speedballs and not cocaine when they’re looking for one (from my understanding).

Never have done cocaine. No reason to start now.. BTW doing cocaine at all is dumb and stupid. Fent fears or not.
