And that doesn't make the watching pro sports any more honorable of a hobby than keeping up with the Kardashians

I mean his logic really is great. Being an NFL fan has honor. Being a Kardashian fan brings dishonor

Well, one is to watch a team lead by a class act, versus watching a show that raises the bar on what's trashy today.
I guess we'll have to agree to disagree which is more palatable.

Agreed. I think the Kardashians are the most worthless family on the planet and are a cancer on society.
But...I also faithfully watch The Bachelor and The Bachelorette so I don't have much room to talk.
Most every woman has their crappy tv they like to watch.

You watch guys tackle each other. There is nothing honorable or redeeming about it. It's entertainment, and nothing more.
And there is nothing wrong with that.

Maybe I should have just said that being a kardashian fan is trashy?

Also, every response in this thread is going to come from anecdotal evidence, so my shitty 18-month marriage is as good a reason as any.
Fair enough. I've learned that a successful relationship involves a lot of sacrifice. Even if it is a sign of immaturity, it's no different than when every grown woman was going ga-ga eyes over those weird vampire movies.

Oh please. No more a "potential symptom of maturity issues" than having thousands of posts on a sports message board. Let's be real here
You're probably right, but if given the choice, would you want someone who was personally invested in the lives of the Kardashians or not? Surely you've never found out a woman was into the Kardashians and thought, "yes, this is great news."

More palatable is totally different.
I'd much rather watch the Angola Prison Rodeo than anything on E!, but that doesn't make the prisoners any more honorable.

My wife watches Once Upon A Time and Agent of Shield, which I find to be just awful shows
but I find people that get really into reality TV to have a serious character flaw that I don't think I could get over

Yea, being an NFL fan is just the definition of classy

If the girl is hot and respects me, who the hell cares whether she's interested in following the Kardashians or any other celeb? It's really no different than my being invested in the exploits of 18-22 year old college athletes or the multimillionaires playing basketball games in uniforms that just so happen to have my hometown emblazoned upon them.

I mean, I've never reacted one way or another, tbh
