How do you know that was the extent of her obsession? He didn't really indicate how little or a lot it actually was.

Anyone who has few enough brain cells to follow that kind of crap will likely let you do just about whatever you want.
You post on a message board about the Kardashians. Maybe you should take a long look in the mirror, Boudreaux

despise celebrity gossip, the kardashians, etc., but then one day i realized "is this any worse than me reading the lunch thread?"

As far as I know no one is promoting themselves on the lunch thread from having a sex tape, a 90 day sham marriage, a sex change, or by pimping out their daughters.

Though it's been some time since I've read the lunch thread, so things may have changed.

I like watching pro sports and a majority of those guys are absolute pieces of shite. Who cares if a woman gets entertainment from a family who are pieces of shite

As long as I never have to watch it with her. I would think less of her however so not sure if date would be the correct word.

Girl I've been talking to lately apparently cares enough about that family follow what they are up in on a weekly basis. I'm thinking this may be a deal breaker.

That crap to them is like sports is to men.

If it's not the Kardashians it's the Bachelorette. If not that then some other nonsense. I don't think it's realistic to find one that isn't in to some artificially dramatic crap on TV. Just accept it.

Even then that's ultimately a celebration of the game, not the players (or at least everyone likes to think it is/was). There's at least something honorable there.

The kardashians on the other hand are a celebration of everything wrong in America. Where's that redeeming factor?

There's something honorable about following professional sports?

Sometimes its nice to watch mindless TV. I don't watch them often but they can be funny at times. I'm sure she doesn't want to sit and watch sports with you all day either.

Where is the redeeming factor in football? It is a bunch of grown men running into each other to win something that has no true meaning. I love sports with a passion. But they are completely pointless

For reasons beyond my comprehension now I married a girl who was a regular viewer of ET and shows like the Kardashians. It ended in divorce less than 18 months later. I wouldn't put much of the original blame on her, but her immaturity turned my problems into irreconcilable differences, at least in her opinion.

You can do what you'd like, particularly for a fling, but it would be a huge red flag for any serious relationship IMO.

I don't know, but my wife watches this occasionally, and if US Census data is correct, many of these posters should be embarrassed to make that much less than my "moron" wife.

This is the equivalent for a woman looking for a man who doesnt like sports. Sure, they are out there. But they are extremely rare and most you find will be weird or ugly

Based on what evidence? Your shitty, 18-month marriage?

I don't think it's that far fetched to admire a player because he's a hard worker or successful off/on the field. Take Sean Payton for example or Drew Brees. To a lot of people they represent the home team, and represent New Orleans, especially after Katrina.

Now compare them to any of the Kardashians.

Who's more honorable?

Meh. Even "cool" girls like dumb shite like the kardashians and the bachelor. It's just a fact of life. Not a deal breaker IMHO

I don't think it is a deal breaker from jump street, but I would label it as a red flag. I also think it is important to note that I'm assuming the OP means this woman is thoroughly involved in the show and their lives, not just someone with a passing interest.

If she is really into it then it could be a sign she has maturity issues, and if so, that will be a major problem.

Nice spin you put on the NFL. Let me do a Kardashian spin:

A family who came up from a poor immigrant to make it big in America who also includes a man who worked from nowhere to win Olympic gold and represent the USA
