Other than vaccinations, Im 42 and have never really been sick other than a cold or stomach virus. I did have back surgery at 37 tho. I guess I would still be here but as a cripple. A lot of my closest family and friends would not be here now, some at a very young age. How about you? Would you still be here without modern medicine?

I would. And unfortunately modern medicine for all its great works, has kept a population of people Mother Nature never intended to breed and live.

But this is the most important one. Because of vaccinations we don't have to worry about a lot of sicknesses that used to kill us regularly

I guess maybe until my gallbladder eventually ruptured

Odds are if I was born in a time without modern medicine, my diet would have been much cleaner, so I wouldn't have needed the surgery in the first place though.

You never had any illness or infection as a kid? I'm calling bullshite. If you include sanitation as modern medicine due to it being based on germ theory, then there's a good chance you'd be dead without it.

Nope. Would have died a miserable death in 2008 when I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes.

I didn't. I had adenoid surgery at age 5, but that wasn't really life threatening.

I've never had surgery or been in the hospital except for a sprained ankle I thought was broken.

I got immunizations at age 4 and didn't get boosters until I was 34. I only got those because I was traveling abroad.

But it's a crap shoot whether any of us would be alive without some of the vaccinations like polio. I'm damn thankful to have modern immunizations as well as modern dentistry.

No

Even ignoring possibilities of life threatening illness that were avoided by vaccines, I would have died at least twice without modern medicine.

Once from strep throat.

Once from appendicitis

I had surgery at 3 weeks old to correct Pyloric stenosis. If not for modern medicine I would have died as an infant. Since that time I've had no major health concerns.

Nope. I have two stents in the widowmaker. I was a massive heart attack waiting to happen.

Yes. I have never needed surgery. Or medicine.

I suppose some antibiotic treatments helped, but my immune system would have won in the end.

My wife would be dead.

But weirdly, I would have a LITTER of kids.

Probably 10+.

No, I almost died from dehydration as a baby, and I was run over by a truck when I was 11. Without modern medicine, I'd be dead.
