I think the Allies would have slowly won Europe.

Russia defeated Japan's largest land army with ease at the end of world war 2. I think Russia would have driven Japan back and signed some sort of piece treaty with them.

Japan would have eventually been driven back by the Asian countries many many years later.

It's absolutely astonishing the the difference one page of a thread can make as far as post quality goes. Unbelievable.

I doubt Germany would have ever successfully invaded Britain regardless, they simply didn't have the necessary naval strength.

However, had America not joined the fight AND Hitler had the foresight to not invade Russia and piss off Stalin, Germany would probably have retained control of most of mainland Europe and northern Africa. Once he invaded Russia his fate was sealed, and ultimately I think even without us England and Russia would have worn them down. It would have taken MUCH longer however.

The idea we were the savior is a bit of propaganda. No do but we hastened the victory over hitler and of course japan with the nukes. But the English and the Russians were equal partners in Europe which is why we gave Stalin so much. WWII is a such historical time for the us not because we were so dominant war wise, but because we were not destroyers by bombing so we became the world economic power. We were lucky. We were and are not some superior people or political system.

This. You can't win a war in Russia, especially during the winter.

I think Europe is split in two between Russians and Germans.

Britain remains under threat for decades and eventually is defeated. Japan controls Eastern Asia. Parts of China are lost to Japan including Hong Kong as an ongoing war over land continues up until the present day.

Eventually, Germany and Russia cannot play nice anymore and another war breaks out. Nuclear technology could have fallen into either countries hands at this point.

No way Europe stops Hitler without the help of the US.

Looks about right. Stalingrad was a huge turning point, but (I don't think) Russia had the strength to totally dominate Germany in the aftermath, but the east and west pressure contributed to the collapse. England (again, I don't think anyway) was holding fast but did not have the resources to go too far on the offensive.

So, while I don't think it's like the US came in and was a single overwhelming factor, I think the answer to the question is still, no, the Allies would not have won without America.

This is not correct.

Before the U.S. jumped in, the Soviets were already marching westward against Germany. Even after the U.S. joined in, the Soviets still got to Berlin first. The main thing American involvement did was keep the Soviets from taking over Western Europe in the process.

As for the Pacific front, Japan was getting bogged down in China much like Germany was bogged down in the USSR. In fact, the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was an act of desperation to buy time, due to them running low on oil supplies. Eventually, China would have driven Japan out and taken over the rest of Japanese-occupied Asia. The main American accomplishment in this theater was keeping the Chinese from taking over all of that land after kicking the Japan out.

For what it's worth, since the European theater fighting ended first, the Soviets then got involved in this theater too and began taking over northern China from the Japanese. Ultimately, U.S. involvement here also limited Soviet expansion.

I don't think they had as much to do with the Japanese surrender as we are made to believe.. Our conventional bombs were doing more damage. The nukes were humane compared to what we were doing with those air raids.

Yes, they would. Britain by themselves would have worn down Germany. The Soviet Union would have wrecked shite like they did. I'm assuming the US wouldn't have gotten involved if Japan hadn't attacked, so we're assuming Japan didn't, so no attack on them would have been necessary.

Any of you subscribe to the theory of Adolf not actually committing suicide and escaping allied forces via U-boat?

The Russian rope-a-dope would have eventually worn Germany down but the sheer bodycount would have likely left the USSR too weakened to dominate Central and Eastern Europe for 45 years. And a protracted war could very well have allowed one or both sides to split the atom. and depopulate Europe.

Remember, the U-boat campaign came within a razor's edge of finishing off Britain. Without US involvement in the Battle of the Atlantic, Germany may well have forced Britain to sue for peace. That would free up massive resources both from the west and the North African/Mediterranean fronts that Hitler could use against Russia.

Plus, the US was shipping tons of material to the USSR.

Absolutely no US involvement, including logistical? I think Germany wins.
