Until I stopped being a fan. Which was during his tenure.

And speaking of sellouts, I have a CSB:

My good friend/roommate at LSU in 2005 went to a game at TS in 2005. Video of him holding up a sign that said "Hey Benson, want a sellout? Look in the mirror" made it on to Inside the NFL. Sign hung up on our apartment wall until we moved out a year later. That's the end of my story.

Ditka years had many games where the saints appealed to businesses to buy tickets to avoid blackouts.

Jesus, you're wrong. Top ten in attendance equals top ten support. Most teams, meaning at least 20 others had just as many blackouts or more.

Absolutely. But again, it was a different era.

In 2000, the Dolphins had a blacked-out playoff game (!!!).

No. The Zephyrs are barely surviving as it is (mostly due to shitty location). We'd be better off with a MLS team.

Just like almost every other franchise.

The last two years definitely, Ditka had people fooled his first season, but that's not a great indication of fan support in the franchise history.

Meh. Move them to the city proper and I don't think that they're killing it.

Regardless, back to the OP, an MLB team in NOLA would be a disaster.

just read that post. I was thinking you meant something other than attendance by "fan support." Top 10 attendance seems right.

I don't know that either are that far off. You even have people these days showing up to tailgate and leaning and golf Catch the game on TV. Something they learned from their LSU/SEC brothers. Back in the day there wasn't the tailgate gene that there is now.

Speaking of, I saw today they are building something on the south side of The Beacon Apartments (opposite side of Willa Jean... Anywho, I wonder if it's adding a new complex, adding to the beacon, or adding a parking garage that is now needed.

Also wonder who owns Kaare Johnson's old Bachlor pad that just sat alone in the middle of those parking lots right there between O'keefe and S. Rampart? Lol they place is/was dope and prime spot to tailgate

Yeah I agree.

95-96 end of mora was pretty ugly in the dome with all the fire mora sheets hanging from the terrace. The late 80s thru 93 compares to the support of 2000 (mid season on) thru 2005. '06 thru '09 was incredible and you couldn't get better support. 10 thru now is a whole different level with the appeal being more of a see and be seen thing at the games. Dome feels different than pre Super Bowl. I have sat through 28 years of games there starting at 2 and have literally only missed 6 games in that span. I liked the dome and fans pre super bowl way better.

At least I didn't turn in to one of the bandwagon fans

Yea, instead you just lie about a fanbase you're not a part of. I'd rather the bandwagon fan honestly.

Even if you were thinking of "fan support" by another metric, you were almost certainly wrong.

As much as I would love to see New Orleans with a MLB team, I just don't see it happening anytime soon, and by soon at least the next couple of decades.
