No. Because even if legal it'll cost money and they'll do what they've always done to get it. Rob, steal, kill, commit fraud, etc.
Then on top of that, you created the beast and now have every obligation to treat them when they inevitably fall apart.
There's no easy solution and what is happening now isn't ideal. But a wholesale free for all isn't the answer.

There’s a whole shitload of different types of marijuana and it’s byproducts coming out now trying to skirt around the regulations.
There’s effing upper and downer MJ and even crystallized MJ and people thought they were just legalizing a plant but there’s a whole basket of worms that comes with it.

Comparative to alcohol it’s not overly regulated. There’s essentially no limit as far as THC concentration goes in the US whereas there are limits on alcohol content. You could even say it’s less regulated than cigarettes as well due to limitations on nicotine.
