Why can't he buy them himself? Do you have to be 18 to buy them?

I agree. My parents knew, and told me to be smart about it all and use them. It's going to be done regardless, so I agree that you are making the right move.

Teenagers are horny. They're going to find a way to bang.

eta: The only thing I have problem with is you actually buying them. If he's not man enough to walk in and get them himself, then he shouldn't be having sex yet.

I have a 16 year old daughter that we got the birth control implant for.

She doesn't even have a boyfriend or the time to have one, but I'm not interested in raising any grandkids.

Kind of pointless to put on your seat belt after an accident isn't it?

Are you going to put them on for him? I had rubbers in my wallet all through HS and never used them.

It's easy to buy condoms now since they have self checkouts everywhere

At 17, I had to use condoms just so it would last.

Hell, I even bought the desensitizing ones a few times

Buying condoms at 17 would have terrified me to the point that I probably wouldn't have done it.

In HS I had a couple of buddies that would bring me by the health center to get them free condoms because they were too chicken shite to go in themselves.

You guys saying "make him buy them himself" clearly haven't been in my position.

Yeah most 17 year olds are going to be too embarrassed or just too damn lazy to take care of that on their own.

I hear if you go late at night, there aren't as many people in the store.

That's what they tell me anyway.

Young (normal) people are going to have sex. Its just going to happen. Might as well make them be safe about it.

This was that health unit in Denham Springs... at the corner of 190 and Juban. They had a bowl of them in the lobby area that you could just walk in and grab. It was right by the receptionist so she'd stare at you the entire time. That lady probably thought I was fricking 20 times a day as much as I went in there for people.

Buy a pack of Plan B and just leave it with the receipt on his pillow. That'll make him understand.

Put a pack in the kid's bathroom where he keeps his shaving stuff. Replace as necessary.

Actually very similar experiences

Chick had a bad reaction to the desensitizing one, so never again

I got more pussy from 15-19 than I do now in my mid 30s and I was way stupider lol. You are definitely doing the right thing by educating him.

Most kids put them in a wallet for a long time before they get to actually use them. I doubt they can survive that long and still be as effective. I got one from a friend in high school and the thing ripped as I put it on. So of course we just went in raw and it was hard to change after that.

That's why back in the day you would go buy your porn and your prophylactics at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone.
