I worked at a residential treatment facility for at risk kids for about 3 months when I first finished college and had just moved across the country for my wife's job. The majority of the staff were dipshits and had no idea what they were doing and the director was even more of a dipshit. The kids were beating the hell out of one another daily and we would have to use CPI, which are take downs and holds, on them but then had to answer for each like we were in the wrong. I could go on and on about that shithole but I've tried to block those three months out of my mind.

I've never had a huge dislike for any of my jobs, but the worst one was probably shipping and receiving manager for an air tool company my family owned. It just wasn't for me, and working with family can suck sometimes. I would rather not have a working relationship with some of them. Leaving that job was one of the best decisions I ever made.

Grew up and worked on a dairy farm. In the summer you would milk the cows from 5:00-7:00. Then at about 9:00 you'd go to the hayfield in 95-100 degree heat until 3:00 when you went back to milk until 5:30, and then back to the hayfield until 9:00. Sometimes, this schedule would last about a month. I would drink so much water I'd come home at night and be able to shite through a screen door. We didn't take lunch breaks just ate bologna sandwiches in the hayfield. August high school football two-a-days were like a vacation after a summer of that shite.

Best and worst in one.
Bartender...
Had to clean the bar and bathrooms before we opened.
Women's bathrooms are fricking terrible. The smells emitted are enbeded in my nasal passages.
Prying up a rug stuck to the floor with dried up puke mixed with sandwich gravy after being left from closing 36 hours before is a bad memory.
However, best single man's job ever.

Taught one year of school when I lived in Baton Rouge at Hollywood Elementary. What a horrible year. Gave up teaching after that!

First job I ever had was washing dishes for Shoneys back in the mid 80's. Late nights, weekends and $3.35 / hour
I would work a 10 hour shift on Friday and then Saturday night. Bring home about $22.00 per night
Now I get tips 5 times that much for one guide trip.

I have 260 employees that are happily doing just this....they never complain. They also work with fire in conditions that can top 120 degrees in the heat of the summer. No doubt a tough job, however these employee are long term and are appreciative of their jobs. It's certainly not for everyone.
Have you ever gotten on the intercom and yelled out "LA MIGRA! LAMIGRA!"?
Good times.

If working retail doesn't get your arse in gear to do well in school, nothing will. What a miserable fricking existence.
That's the damn truth. Worked at Lowes for a summer. I did a "clopen" 4-5 times a week. Always felt tired at that job.
Worse job I ever had physically though was being on a well drilling crew. I had 3 days off one time at that job and I don't remember getting of bed until it was time to go back to work.

Dude, unloading trucks at UPS is the cake job. Loading is what sucks. The boxes just keep coming down that conveyer belt and your trying to put together a giant jigsaw puzzle to get them all to fit and the old guy running the conveyer system is yelling at me for slowing him down. Lasted a week.

High School - Fertilizer and feed production plant. It was hot, and nasty as heck. I went through tuf nut overalls and boots with a quickness.
High School - Chicken House
Post-college - UPS loading trucks. Hoped to worked my way up. Told them to kiss my rear 6 months in.
Masters Degree- worked in a warehouse that would run 115-120 all summer. Miserable work. I was happy the day I finished school and found a real job

worked at the Academy DC in receiving.
It had no A/C and the 18 wheeler's trailers were hot as hell.
First day I had to unload a truckload of ammunition. Even with the dolly that shite was heavy.

Throwing papers in high school. Good money but never get a day off.

Mine is easily the two years before I started offshore. Working on small work over rigs and wrenching rods all day in the East Texas heat. We would rig up and down at least 3 or more times a day moving from well to well. I would pray for days that we would get stuck downhole. 5am-7pm M-S. I learned how to work derricks real quick to get off the ground and not have to deal with that crap. I had a separate washer and dryer outside just for those clothes. Those were some of the hottest days. And pos equipment and small pos truck rig. And the pay sucked. It was like heaven when I decided to head offshore

My worst job was hiking through waist to chest deep in Florida swamps. We cut trails and measured the amount of organic soils to see if the property was worth developing.
My shittiest job?
Inspecting sewer rehab in St Bernard Parish. We were working in active sewers. So when service lines were cut off from the houses, all the shite and wastewater would fill up in the trench that were dug.
And 1-3 days every week, at 7 am, a different 75+ year old woman that would give an unsolicited racist rant. It usually happened immediately after I explained what work we were doing. My mom had died just before that job, so I was very depressed. Having to deal with that shite small and racism daily, made things even worse.

My father owned a residential construction company and I spent basically every summer from the time I was 8 until I was 18 working on one of the crews. When I was young I was basically a gopher fetching tools and shite like on a job site. I'd work about half a day, then my father would come pick me up for lunch, I'd spend the rest of the day at his office, and get a few bucks at the end of each week. Wasn't a bad deal.
It was when I started high school that shite started to really suck, especially the summer before my senior year. I worked on a roofing crew which meant early hours in the summer. Get off early, though, right? Nope. Work 8 hours busting my arse and then I had afternoon workouts for the football team from 3-6 PM. I've never been more tired in my entire life than I was that summer. I was always paid minimum wage even though by that point I was basically skilled labor; he knew he had to pay me, legally, but he also knew I couldn't really say no and quit work. After that summer I swore I'd never work in the construction industry again.
Guess what I do now? Work in the construction industry. Although I'm done with manual labor.

I've had 3. Picking up and hauling hay to put up in a barn all summer. Thousands of square bales.
Next was roofing houses and insulating attics in the summer. We did both.
Last was hanging Sheetrock by the foot back in the 80s. Hard work.
