I kind of lump in Africa and the Middle East in the same position in the HMs despite being 50 years apart, but the result is the same with a ton of tribes that hate each other being put under a national banner. The lack of understanding of this may be largely the biggest failure of Western Civilization as a whole.

Get the fricking Italians to do it. If they can’t sack Yugoslavia, then they are even more worthless as allies than I thought. Hitler didn’t let Mussolini in on Operation Barbarossa.

The people in those regions have been show to be better off when under strong leadership. Left to their own devices they fall into petty tribal disputes. They are best as part of a powerful empire
