for this reason, I almost never look at education on resumes I receive. However, I always look for an ex-athlete or a military person. I want someone that can handle some criticism and go back to work.

In other words, quit being a titty baby. if you are not confident in your actions/results, then you are the problem.

If you are that good at what you do just go to another company that has the same work values as you.

I had the worst of the worst when it comes to this. He was basically Patrick Bateman from American Psycho to the T. He was from NYC and was a former investment banker just like the character. He was every bit as shallow, pompous, and egocentric as Christian Bale in the movie. In fact, Patrick Bateman treated his secretary better than how my boss treated me.

Can't tell you how many times I've thought of leaving dog poo at his door step and to top it off with a chef's kiss, some on his car door handles as well, as I can easily look up his address online.

Of course on his $100,000 Porsche and whatever else he has.

Why does everyone expect praise to be part of their compensation package?

I had a boss like this. My problem is I have a temper and eventually I reach my limit and have a habit of spilling truth to people that aren’t prepared for it. He got a healthy dose of truth and wasn’t prepared for it. I left shortly thereafter. Company went out of business not too long after I left.

Dude was a bag of dicks. He called me on the day my daughter was born. He knew where I was. Then he started blowing up my phone texting me looking for a response while I was literally holding my newborn daughter. All for something he fricked up. a-hole.

You have a toxic boss, but I'm sure management loves them and they can do no wrong. These type of managers are the absolute worse.

Hang in there and look at the bigger picture, your family. Create your own file on your manager and when you argue keep’em on the defense.

I had the best manager I ever worked for once tell me that bad times never last, but neither do good times.

I was one of only 200 or so telecommuters in an IT dept of several thousand for almost 20 years and was paranoid as frick the whole time over wanting to knock it out of the park every year so I wouldn’t have to move my family back out of state to the corp office (in an undesirable blue state, very far away).

Silver lining is having that hungry attitude helped me get several early promotions over the years.

Since Covid the whole department telecommutes now and I have less than 10 years left to retire, so now IDGAF.

Crazy what people do now that I would have never done Re answering the door or phone calls or have a dog barking etc. during meetings.

Different manager every couple of years so never had to put up with any ones shite for too long. Most of them weren’t that bad actually.

At least I got compensated for kicking arse, wife is a teacher (no pics) and also a real go getter but they all get the same shite raise or no raise regardless of performance.
