I could work today but it wouldn’t make me anymore money. One of the few downsides of salary.

Thankful that I'm not because I'm salary. I'd be working for nothing extra

Any of you baws work extra on the weekend?
Yes. Saturday and Sunday are both double time here. $121.04 an hour. Can't beat that.

I don’t miss having to work weekends. Was always such a hassle to make sure I had a weekend off for things. Putting in schedule requests two months in advance or having to switch shifts with other nurses.

Had an emergency and had to go in for a few hours and of course work for free. I fricking hate being salary when something happens on the weekend and I have to go in.

I've worked every single weekend for the last 18 years.

Missed many a football game, boys night out, crawfish boil and a whole slew of other things. Sometimes it worked out for the best, like family gatherings that I'd rather slit my wrist than go to. All extra money I earned, went into savings and that pot grew to be quite substantial which in turn bought my 3K ft house with 3 acres (not fully paid off). It's quite normal for me now. In 15 more years I'm not going to know what to do with all my free time but my house will be paid off and I'll have a few toys to boot.
Doesn't sound worth it.

On salary but going in tonight to give a break to my hourly guys who are starting to get burned out with all the weekend work lately. I used to be in their shoes so I have a pretty good idea when they need a break.

for $40/hour I'll sit my arse here all day
I worked OT today as well, but made over twice that an hour.

Yes, I'm sure missing a 1/4th of the weekends in your life will be worth it to have a car and boat. Good call.

I worked a 12 hour shift on Super Bowl Sunday during a refinery shutdown about 15 years ago. It was worth a few bucks under $700 (I think the rate was $57.60 with double time and a Sunday premium). It was an easy day because most people were loafing and complaining about missing the game. As if the pay wasn't enough, I also won $250 on a pool. I don't remember who was playing, but it was among my favorite Super Bowls!
