On the bright side, the life span of "doom and gloomer" is probably much shorter on average with someone with a positive outlook. So maybe you won't have to endure it as long as others who disagree.

Age 68. 5 kids. 10 grandkids. They all live in other states. It is so nice and quiet right now I believe I will have a beer. Retirement is a wonderful thing. But those of us who have reached retirement had to make it through the same multiple jobs as you.
