I’ve spent the whole morning just trying to get my work laptop to vpn and to connect to my home printer via wifi. Not going well, so far, but hopefully I can make it all work before lunch and start cranking out good work.

I'm a homebody anyway

I am somewhat as well when I'm not at work. My daughter is home but she's 13 and not a distraction.

I guess I've just been going to an office everyday for 20 years. Being at home all day feels very foreign to me.

Our remote work is optional so I'll probably just start going back in.

I had a killing machine full of teeth and claws lazily attack my legs as I made the walk from the cafe where I stopped for breakfast to the office. Luckily, said killing machine only weighs ten pounds or I might have had a problem. I shooed it away and shortly after the vicious attack, I witnessed it harrassing a dust bunny.

I'm going to have to complain to management about the lax janitorial service.

I'm hoping the evening commute is smoother.

You're trying to connect to your wifi'd home printer while VPN'd in to your work?

You're probably going to have to disconnect the VPN to connect to the printer wirelessly (the computer sees it as trying to connect to two different networks at once). If you can connect to the printer via USB or Bluetooth, you will be able to use it regardless of the VPN.

Been working from home since changing jobs in 2018. It’s not for everyone but I love it. I also have my own office/room and company provided all necessary supplies so I can see how peoples experiences differ.
