What?!?!

This is the start of “circle back season.” We will circle back on that in January.

Yep. Not taking off the week between Christmas and new years, if you can, is an avoidable mistake. Took several years to learn this the hard way. The longest week of the year if you stuck at work.

December is our year-end so we are always busy. Things slow down in January and the summer. Fine by me.

Dunno. It’s usually slow this time of year for me, but Dec 2025 is mandatory 6 days, 54 hours all month long. Hell, they’ve even brought in technicians from out of state to help our workload. Doesn’t matter. They’ll get 8, maybe 9 more days out of me, then I’m off until 2026.

We did our strategic development mid November which of course broke us into 19 committees... so now every day is being alerted about 3 abnormal meetings I totally forgot I had cause they aren't the norm... fun.

My job in December is completely dependent on my clients and if they need my help with something until around Christmas-time, when we shut down until the new year.

In past Decembers, it's been very quiet at this time of year. This year, it's been quiet, but more active than in prior years.

I find it harder to stay focused once I'm back from Thanksgiving. Feels like the year is pretty much done at that point and I'm subconsciously already thinking about my holiday/new year plans.

Work ramp up in December is crazy
For us it's the busiest time of the year, then freight drops off a cliff on Dec 23 all the way to March when people get caught up on bills.

We had an office 3 hrs away. When I merged my company they asked me to oversee. When I started visiting, I found out the manager had everyone take off for the month of December, splitting up the work week with one person coming in each day in case someone stopped in. They had been doing it that way for over 5 years. It averaged each person worked 3 days in December.
