The relationships were formed in an office at a younger age then reconnected in person.
Of course the younger generation ‘dialed in’ to the conference from home and gained nothing.

Phones have been around a long time for colleagues to chat with each other. Microsoft Teams has been a thing since before Covid.
Just to add, the department I work in was created during the lock-down as a fully remote group and there's over 20 of us spread across the US. It's impossible for us to collaborate unless it's over Teams meetings.
We were never in an office, yet there are some within the company that want us to start going in.
