I call Reese's peanut butter cups "Ree-See Cups" and cauliflower "collie flower"

I find most people say "Ant-artic" rather than "Ant-arc-tic". Same with "Ar-tic" instead of "Arc-tic".
"Ath-uh-lete" is another common mispronunciation of "ath-lete". It is two syllables.
The phrase "chomp at the bit" should be "champ at the bit".

When I hear someone say Reese's like that (very common), I just remind them that it belongs to a guy named Reese.

On the drive in this morning I was listening to ESPN radio and Kevin Mawae came on for his weekly segment. He then took the unenviable position of trying to explain the problems with LSU's passing game, and got hung up on the word intermediate.
"The problem with the blocking is they are trying to run too many deep routes. They need to run more intermitary. . interminal... middle routes to help Harris out."
In his defense though he didn't miss a beat.

I say "Pee-low", like Prof. Litvinoff. As in, "There's are many promises made, my friend, to which the only witness is a pee-low."

Actually, he's at least partly right, because nucular physicists pronounce "fission" as "fishin'", which does rhyme with "mission" as he said.
