Okay, I looked it up. They are both acceptable pronunciations "fi' shun" and "fi' zhun." So, at least my pronunciation isn't wrong. Besides, my pedantic brain looks at the comparisons "mission" and "vision" and can't make fission with two "s"s sound like a word that only has one.

My GF is from north La and she doesn't use the word "either" properly.
Instead of
"Stop at either Chevron or Texaco"
She says
"Stop at Chevron or either Texaco"
I thought she accidentally misspoke the first time it happened but no, she does it everytime.

I can't think of any word that I mispronounce, but I have a sister-in-law that mispronounces more words than she pronounces correctly.

Those are just a few, I used to correct her but now I just leave it alone.
