Words/phrases that evolved into something else over time

Spinoff of the other thread where people screw up words/phrases. A phrase that evolved over time was "That's the $64,000 Question."
Back in the 1930's it originated as "That's the $64 Question" as $64 was the maximum amount allowed for a listener to win a prize on the radio back then. Fun fact: Jimmy Hoffa liked to use $64 Question all the time, even on the record in court or in front of Congress.
Are there any other words/phrases that are different now from its origins?

Yes, it's suppose to be a happy thread, I concur.

I can think of a word that only one race can say now. Does that count?

Good one! Used to mean “happy and jovial,” then later meant “two dudes diddling each other,” and finally landed on “something that really sucks”

A lot of older movies will have the term “making love” as courtship, vs the actual sex act it has evolved into

“Out of pocket” means to pay for something yourself but some illiterates decided about 10 years ago it means “unreachable”. For example, “I’ll be out of pocket for the next hour because I’ll be driving without a phone available.”
Probably the same idiots who overuse “myself.” “Joe and myself are going to be out of pocket today.”

IIRC this was used by Donna Reed in IAWL.

Skeet used to be a shooting sport and now it refers to ejaculation.
