Philosophical question to ponder: Obviously this woman is a POS but does it make it any worse than if the kid didn't have down syndrome?

And you're obviously not a parent nor know anything of the reflexive protective reaction a father would have in that situation. Maybe if you spent more time not being an ignorant message board a-hole and talking out of your arse about things you know nothing about, you'd realize this.

The other side of the story

quote:

"And they sat down and immediately he started slamming his body into the back of the booth and it was hurting my back,” said Joyce Fallon. “I turned back around after 4-5 times and I said would you please make him stop doing that, it's hurting my back. She said I don't care, you stupid old b****, if you don't like it, move."

Fallon says things escalated when Andrea Ramos started calling her names.

"I said why don't you just change places with him. 'I said I told you I don't care, if you don't like it move you stupid old b****'. She called me that twice," said Fallon.

Ramos told 13abc her son was quiet and that Fallon threw a drink at her son, who suffers from down syndrome.

“She had a cup in her hand, and I watch her take the lid off and she chucked her drink at the back of my son's head,” said Ramos.

"I picked my pop up and I got so angry because she called me that I just… but the lid never came off or nothing. She didn't even get anything on her. I did not throw it at the child,” said Fallon.

She does admit to trying to throw the drink at the mother.

“Yes but nothing came out because the lid didn't come off. So I failed in that too," said Fallon.

Adrian police are investigating and they're preparing to send the case to the City Attorney for authorization of charges of assault and battery against Fallon. So far no charges have been filed.

“I think the whole thing should just... it's unfortunate that it happened, but I didn't do anything to her. She started the whole thing to begin with. I just told her what I thought," said Fallon.

Fallon admits voices were raised but nothing was directed at the child as his mom contended.

“I was like 'stop, he doesn't understand, he has down syndrome, he doesn't understand what you're saying.' She looked at him and said, 'so you're stupid, you're an idiot,’” said Ramos.

“I never said that. I never said that at all. I told the mother she was stupid," said Fallon.

It's funny that some people think that being a parent somehow bestows some magical understanding that using violence becomes reasonable in all situations as long as it concerns your children no matter how unreasonable it is. News flash. Not everyone thinks like you and is as incompetent in solving their problems.

Sorry, you're full of shite. Just because you won't take up for your kid if an adult were to throw a drink at them and call them a "stupid "idiot", doesn't mean all other dads are pussies like you. Wonder what your kid would be sitting there thinking with coke all over their head while some strange adult yells insults at them. I'm guessing it would be something along the lines of "why won't my daddy take up for me?".

I'm done with you. What a waste.

It has nothing to do with thinking or reason, parental instinct and rage take over. Would I beat a 69 yr old women if she threw a drink at my kid, I doubt it, but I for damn sure would be dumping drinks on her head and calling her every name in the book while making sure she was scared for her life.
