It’s a story told to scare blue collar workers into making safety a priority. Which is why so many people have an example of that happening.

Rider on other side of my float for Endymion got run over years ago. We had just exited the Dome and were briefly stopped. Our float is middle one of three. He tried to get off the back when we started moving again, causing him to fall and get crushed by last float. I didn't see the aftermath, but buddy of mine did and had to go home for the night. He still won't talk about what he saw.

Aren't floats about the size of a semi and move at about a walker's pace?
How can one get run over by a float?

Did your wife's good friend see the "axil" break off and roll up on the sidewalk??
No, and I think I have enough posts here to say that I'm not trolling. I do trust this person to a certain degree. I wouldn't say she is the MOST reliable person on earth but I doubt she is intentionally lying. She's a real good friend.

Yeah, that is similar to what she said.
She is really traumatized by it. Was crying when she was talking about it.

Well maybe so. I just telling you what I was told.

a pastor in the small town I grew up got speak to his wife before she died. She had been hit but a truck walking home but was pinned against a tree. The police waited to reverse the truck so he could speak to her one last time. A few years later that same pastor actually discovered aliens with his ex MLB brother

dude, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear that
I hope latoya/the city don't try to turn this into some, "we have to drastically change the way we parade" thing, it's so rare
but what a shitty situation for everyone involved.

I’d say her Mardi Gras plans were “nixed”... amidointhisrite?

I don’t know if someone’s made a “nyx’d” joke yet in these 23 pages but I definitely thought of it the second this was posted. I just didn’t think it would be appropriate.

City officials are looking for any reason to push Endymion onto the uptown route. They wouldn’t have to spread out an already thin NOPD/NOFD. Until then, theyll force the parade to pay to keep the traditional route.
They tried to force us this year...
Endymion's floats are way too big for the uptown route...
The krewe actually hired over 100 JP's to patrol the line up area... NOPD in very incompetent..

Did he get to squeeze in a few minutes with her bottom half?

Wow. Seems like that pastor would lose faith and leave his church. I bet it would take a while for him to forgive the man that was responsible for the death of his wife. Would probably take extreme circumstances. Maybe even an invasion.
