All pit bull owners should do time for injuries that they cause as if they did it themselves. Kill a kid? Life without parole.

I'd have no problem with that punishment for owners of ANY breed.

at all of you damning the entire breed.

Any child I saw at work with a really bad dog bite(like one requiring intense plastic surgery)....guess what breed did that to the child? Pit or pit mix. Many of them the family pet that "was always such a sweet dog and never hurt anyone".

Took care of a kid that HAS NO NOSE now because his grandmother's pit BIT IT OFF when he was a toddler. Now he is like 10 and has gone through several painful surgeries...and still has no nose. He will forever be horribly disfigured(it makes you want to cry when you see him cause you just know he will go through life with everyone gawking at him).

Pits can't be trusted. Too many stories of pits that were not raised to be aggressive that just suddenly turn...and seriously injure a human.

There are too many breeds of dogs in this world. Get one that doesn't have the jaw strength to bite your face off.

If this is true, then I have no sympathy for her.

Sad that this stuff happens more than it should a couple weeks ago it happen in northeast alabama

quote:

young woman described as a beautiful soul is dead after being attacked by a pack of pit bulls near Section, Alabama. 24-year-old Emily Mae Colvin was killed while walking in her own neighborhood Thursday morning at County Road 121 in Jackson County. Authorities said that one of the five pit bulls who attacked her became aggressive and also tried attacking a deputy when they responded to a 911 call regarding the incident. That pit bull was shot and the other four vicious animals were taken away by police. Colvin is the second person in the state to die at the jaws of the pit bull breed in only a matter of days.

Yep. I'll stick with my labs.

Me and my kids were riding bikes in our neighborhood a few months ago and some lady was walking a pit on a leash. We were across the street but he came at us so hard that she had trouble controlling him. I got my kids behind me and pulled out my pocket knife (all I had). Luckily he wasn't able to slip out of his collar.

I agree pit bulls are stupid to own

However, if you raise your labs for dogfighting, like these dogs were, they will frick your world up too......

If ever there was a case for law enforcement to shoot some dogs this was it.

My cousin rescued a dog from a shelter. You can tell it is a pit mix.

She seems very sweet...however she lived on the street before she was at the shelter. My cousin said she doesn't get along with other dogs very well. Sucks because my aunt(his mom) that lives with him would always watch our dogs for us when we went out of town. Not anymore...no way I'm bringing my dogs around his dog. And if I have a child....my aunt will not babysit unless she comes over to our house.

When I was growing up - It was German Shepherds that were the "neighborhood terror" or kid-biters. Over the years - I think there popularity reduced to the point that they are now only owned by ppl who understand them and what it takes to train them and keep them in line.

Right now - there's so many pit bulls out there that either belong to the wrong kind of owners or are the descendants of bred-aggressive bloodlines.

I hope that in the future - pit bulls will take the same path as german shepherds.

I don't see it happening anytime soon. Pitbulls are popular with the trashiest, uneducated population.

Oh the cholos love them some pits out West...don't forget that population.

Seriously...go to a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood...the strays you see roaming around will either be chihuahua mix or pit mix.

The breed is one of the smartest loving breeds in this world. Do some research before you regurgitate out your mouth.

I have two that wouldn’t hurt a fly. Much like human beings they behave how they’re raised.

Sad story, obviously there were raised to be aggressive so it’s her own fault.

Stop calling every dog that kills someone a pit bull. I’ve never seen a 125 pound pit bull in my life.
