What's yours? Are you acknowledging that the police won't learn from an instance of clear overreach? The police, as instruments of the state, are afforded far less leeway than regular citizens, as state violence toward citizens (as has been the reason for over 100 riots in US history) weakens trust in the institutions of the state, and makes everyone worse off. People generally don't riot without some spark, and the spark in American history, both in the civil rights movement and the labor movement, has been violence from the police toward citizens.

Weird metric to judge bad cop behavior by.

And what have those riots specifically accomplished exactly?

Why would cops with this level of IQ be saying “frick the police” ?

Do you want me to go through each one, or are you going to talk about my point at all?

Haymarket gave the labor movement a sustained cause for more than half-a-century. In the Battle of Blair Mountain, the victory for the coal mines against the miners was Pyrrhic, as the labor movement in the 1930's was much stronger and well-organized across multiple industries. The riots of 67 and 68 became important in sustaining the civil rights movement. Those are some of the larger riots that people seem to forget, with consequences far beyond what occurred to incite the riots in the first place.

So again, do you think the police are going to use this as a "teaching moment" and actually learn from it?

Good points. I would hope the cops do learn from it, seriously. Will they, who knows. But I don’t believe a a majority of those rioting on a nightly basis this week care either and are simply wanting to cause chaos and destruction without consequences.

Police violence against citizens is unconscionable and makes everything worse for everyone. Why isn't everyone getting mad at the overreach? Daniel Shaver is one example where white people should protest.

Here's another: LINK

Here's another: LINK

It boggles my mind people aren't getting angry about these incidents, as violent policing is now affecting every demographic in the US. The way police are responding to this in multiple cities, from shooting journalists to tear-gassing protestors who aren't even looting, is going to turn regular citizens against cops, and destroy the legitimacy of the rule of law. It's unfortunate that police mistakes are amplified, but they are institutional representatives, and if they feel they can be violent to regular citizens (which they are, at a level not seen in other developed nations), then we have to ask what is the ultimate point of this method of policing.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say Ice Cube and Dr Dre surpass you in both criteria.

When a cop tells you to do something do it or get your arse dealt with.

You’re right. Excuse my previous poorly chosen hill to die on. I do believe there is a police brutality problem in this country that needs to be addressed.

Here’s a very similar murder of a white man in Dallas to how George Floyd died.

Tony Timpa in 2016 (Dallas) - excuse the CNN link.
