It's only the one finger and there is a numbness/lack of feeling from the tip of my ring finger running down my forearm halfway to my elbow.

Been up since 7 and it hasn't gone away. What could this be?

You slept with your finger up your arse all night.

You had it in your a-hole while you slept. Remember that dream you had where you were fingering the 19 year old? Well....

Possibly cubital tunnel syndrome. Similar to carpal tunnel but the nerve gets entrapped at the elbow. Need an EMG/NCV test to confirm.

In all seriousness, follow this link...

Ulnar Nerve

quote:

The ulnar nerve gives feeling to the little finger and half of the ring finger. It also controls most of the little muscles in the hand that help with fine movements, and some of the bigger muscles in the forearm that help you make a strong grip.

Sounds like ulnar nerve neuropraxia.

Could be just the way you slept. Or it could be compression on the ulnar nerve anywhere from the spine and thoracic outlet to the elbow, forearm, and wrist.

Or a bad case of G.R.I.D.

If the numbness stops at your elbow you probably slept with your arm awkwardly bent and you had your nerve impinged at the elbow. If it was a pinched nerve at C4-5 it would continue up to your shoulder

If I’m right you should regain feeling in a few hours. If you don’t, then go see a doctor.

Deltaland, don't listen to these silly folks.

You clearly have some numbness in your ring finger.
