The House approved the proposal on a 70-29 vote Thursday. The bill returns for a final vote in the Senate, which already approved an earlier version. Gov. Bobby Jindal says he will sign it.

Because of North LA? Years.

But legalization and decriminalization are two completely different things.

A long time.

A year after a medical marijuana proposal stalled in the Louisiana Legislature, a bill that could get medical-grade pot to people suffering from cancer, glaucoma and a severe form of cerebral palsy will likely pass.
This isn't a cool law like California's.

Ohio is voting in November for full legalization and we don't even have medical.

It would be a first if that happened.

It's polling 52 for/44 against right now.

It'll be interesting to say the least.

So it's only for treatment of a very few specific diseases?

Probably 5-7 years before Louisiana will have recreational shops. We'll be one of the last states to fully legalize

Constitutional amendments made at the ballot box only require a simple majority in Ohio.
