Did summer-autumn working on a farm. It crazy tough, smelly, tiring, an in many ways unrewarding.
However it's honest. Something primal about it. Seeing animals put down, birthing etc. Harvesting the crop.
And some of the finest salt of the earth folks I've ever met.
