So is Bluetooth safe? Sorry if it's a dumb question. I remember years ago people were saying it caused brain cancer

Depending on how loud the beach around you is, something smaller might be easier to take with you. I bought this one: LINK a few weeks ago and just took it to the pool on Saturday. It is tiny, and sounds good enough. I can toss it in the backpack, it is waterproof, and sat it on a chair between our lounge chairs and it is loud enough to hear it clearly, even over all the noise of kids playing in the pool. And the whole pool didn't have to listen to what I wanted to like the group about 30 feet from us that had crap blaring all afternoon.

Ordered these back in April according to Amazon. I was tired of the model I had been using crapping out, so I figured I'd grab some cheap ones and if I got 6 months to a year out of them, great. I've ran in them several times, and they are much more comfortable since it is just a flat wire connecting them. Cut grass in them a few times as well. Decent sound, and they don't fall out.

I use an Ion job rocker for literally everything. I've taken it when I floated on the river (in a trash bag), to tailgates, the pool and the beach and it's only like $150 and has been the loudest speaker everywhere I've gone.

Someone has shitty music, crank it up and drown em out. One of the best purchases I've ever made.
