Anyone know the timetable regarding a decision made by EBR? Seems like they are likely to hold off until tonight/early morning to pull the trigger

I understand the need to cancel school because of safety reasons but this is absurd really.

School systems are in a tough spot. They want to call it soon enough so parents can make arrangements. On the other hand, they do not want to jump the gun and call it too soon.
Parents are going to bitch either way....

Cancel school and parents will bitch about having to find a sitter last minute
Don't cancel school and parents will bitch about the safety of their child

The threat of ice during the afternoon should raise the concern of school officials. LA drivers can’t handle this

Buddy of mine told me LSU officials will meet and discuss later this evening after 7 or 8

Many schools in the EBR are waiting to see what LSU does but usually they announce before LSU

Doesn't make any sense,

Looks like everyone is waitin to see what the other person does but no one wants to decide

Well Louisiana drivers can barely handle the rain.... from what I read and saw the snow was even worse...

I know during the last big snow I had to go to Southeastern for a final. They had at least 2 cars off the road each mile because people don't know how to drive in the snow and cars here are not equipped to drive in the snow.

People can't drive already in the sun with no wind

What could possibly go wrong with icy roads

I was just thinking about how excited I was for the kids to go to school tomorrow so I can actually work. And then I see this crap. EBR/Ascension, don't you dare. DONT YOU DO IT

Looks like there will be icy roads in BR sometimes by noon or a little after noon as of now

This front is moving quickly

The more I look at it, EBR schools likely will make a statement within the next couple hours

If there is possibly snow or icy roads at 12 or 1, I don't see LSU having classes tomorrow. Some of the new officials have already stated if its icy early on they will likely push for school to close

You are correct. The people calling the shots will always put the safety of the students first. You can never be faulted for thinking of their safety.

In BR temps appear to be below freezing until 1pm Wednesday... this could very well be a two day event.

Some students can only travel by bus too, and if the road is at risky for bein icy, buses for LSU will not be run for safety reasons

Surprised LP hasn't announced. They usually fall once the other dominoes start.

My kids overheard the forecast on tv. They are now driving me crazy asking me to check the school board Facebook every ten seconds.

Louisiana has zero infrastructure set up to deal with snow and ice. Combine that with the fact people do not drive in the snow/ice with any sort of regularity and it completely makes sense to shut the state down.
