gust of wind. Never forget.
While nothing bad will happen and this is lot of over reaction I remember the Gustav thread how many people were posting smark comments as this as the first few bands were barely on land. Tone changed when the storm actually got there

Any accumulation
just the usual stuff that accumulates... same old, same old, I guess.
it's cold, wind howling, few flurries early, schools closed, the usual.

Couple of things, radar looks encouraging as the band is sagging slowly S with some filling in to the SW of BTR. 12z NAM and the short range high resolution models still want to split the precipitation total max to the N & SE of BTR. Looks like they are picking up on an area of better dynamics for precipitation to the SE. This would put highest totals up near the border with the landmass and down near New Orleans. Baton Rouge still gets sleet but the epic ice storm that was feared looks less and less likely.
Again, this is just taking current model data verbatim and these small scale features that drive precipitation can change rapidly. Also, even 0.10" of ice is a pain in arse.

I want to see pictures from people in Alexandria, Natchez, Brookhaven, etc. Those places look like they are getting it bad. I'm in Jackson and we've gotten a nice layer out here, but it looks like its about to be done for the day.

Due to mechanical issues the Dulac Pontoon Bridge is closed to vehicular traffic.

From what I heard, the NAM busted so far with this storm..
