You're right he deserved to be shot 8 times in the back for drinking and driving......

A lawyer told me that self defense is an affirmative defense for which the defendent does bear the burden of proof. Not sure if that's definitely correct, but what I was told. So, if true, Hayes did have to show that he was acting in self defense.
