Napoli got Hayes to say he didn't shoot Racquel and then immediately asked to approach the bench and asked for a recess. Interesting.

Napoli needs to calm down. He's been going 100 mph on this cross.

A few jurors have lost interest in this cross. One juror looking away from witness stand. Another looking at the spectators.

Hayes just said Hernandez had left the scene before the shooting
big mistake Cardell

think he wants to let that point simmer
or let the jury refuel so he can lay the wood... right now he's making good slashes in Hayes's story

Could be strategy. It's clear he shot her. Let them stew with that over lunch and if he clarifies after lunch, the jury can see it likely has been 'cleared up' after consulting with Fuller.
Not a bad route but risky.

So he should lie?
he just said the 1 person that all unbiased witnesses said was the crazy 1 was gone
so now where's the threat?

What the hell are you talking about?
I am pointing out that Hayes says he sees (?) Ceravolo at the scene at one point but Napoli proves that is wrong because Ceravolo was at the Windsor at that point.. as seen on video..
Is that good enough for you?

Well so he should have lied?
He was asked where Hernandez was

Has Fuller already questioned Hayes on the stand? How did that go I'm just catching up?

Cardell Hayes doesn't concede that, he says he only knows he 'didn't shoot Racquel.'
Maybe "Weedy" shot her... Hayes is getting ridiculous now.

basically went through Hayes's side of the story... seemed somewhat credible
but now Napoli is ripping the story to shreads

He was asked where Hernandez was
say you don't know where he was
better than admitting the main crazy person was already gone before you decided to shoot someone

He just wants Hayes to stay on cross through lunch so Fuller can't prepare for rebuttal. I think he'll wrap up fairly quickly once they're back.

I am back from lunch and of course someone was in my seat on the rows saved for the media. He wouldn't move. I had to get Judge to move him

This trial is a contest of lies. Like most trials.

The prosecutions summation will explain the only real likely scenario and Hayes will be convicted.
The defense summation will be a re-hash of Hayes testimony, with other unsubstantiated allegations.
