I have a feeling that any kind of smoking gun that people are thinking might be there just isn't there.

This is what I'm starting to think based on tweets. Hopefully there has been more substance in the courtroom that didn't translate over tweet.

This is what happens when expectations are elevated.I have seen nothing to indicate that Billy C. being on the scene that night helps Hayes.

ADA Napoli: Did W. Smith lose his right to come back to his loved ones the night he was killed? Ceravolo: Yes. Napoli: Who took that right?

Ceravolo answers that Cardell Hayes did. Ceravolo is off the stand. The state is preparing to publish its evidence to the jury.

Looks like the state is resting...going to be interesting to see what Fuller has up his sleeve the rest of the way.

State is getting ready to show the items admitted into evidence to the jury. Looks like state has finished calling witnesses.

After the jury reviews the state's published evidence, Cardell Hayes' defense team will have the opportunity to present a case on his ...behalf

As former colleague/courts reporter @ppurpura helpfully notes, the state can rebut any case the defense would put on.

Judge Buras telling jurors they have as much time as they need to review all of the exhibits associated with the state's case v. C. Hayes.

so we gonna sit here and refresh for long time?

They couldn't have done this shite while they were eating lunch. We pass pictures around at the dinner table all the time to look at while eating. This process is very inefficient.

Probably ten minutes or so. There is less evidence in this trial than the one I served in a jury on, and we took about 10-15 min.

Directly across the courtroom from the jury is a picture of Will Smith, Racquel Smith and their three children.

Ramon Antonio Vargas ?@RVargasAdvocate
That photo of Will Smith and his family is propped up against the blinds of a courtroom window, off on its own.

Yeah, even if Hayes is found not guilty, his life is never going to be what it was before this happened.
