If they are rigged before betting, holy crap can you imagine legal betting being in place? Bama holding? As mythical as a nat championship with oregeron at the helm

All I know is I am going to make a fortune betting on WWE.

I would think this would happen....but I do not know the details of the ruling. If Louisiana can make taxes off of the sports gambling at its casinos, then hell yes we'll do it!

This is absolutely ridiculous and an absolute travesty in my opinion

He’s referrjng to lost hotel revenues, cab fares, dining, drinks, shopping, etc.

For a state that, in 2014, generated nearly a billion in tourism sales tax, its retarded to not at least pass the sports gaming laws to get the ball rolling and implement at a later date.

I’ve never been to Biloxi to gamble or vacation, but I would definitely consider making a weekend trip out of it for a big football weekend.

Because it makes the games more interesting.

We go to the Nugget in Lake Chuck a bunch during football season for long weekends to play golf, fish, and hunt. I give zero fricks about stepping foot into the casino but making a few bets on some football would be cool. I hope LA gets off it's arse with this and comes around. Maybe Tillman needs to wine and dine a politician or 2.

WHAT makes people think the state needs MORE of the people’s money ? Everybody thinks they’ll win betting on games ? Good luck. There’s a thing called the point spread that gives the house the advantage. Why do young Louisianians want to squander thier money. How about building wealth the right way ? The people of Louisiana will be the loser if this is legalized and the politicians and corporations will make bank and u will receive no better services or roads etc. just more money out the door.

What makes you think you have the right to decide how I spend my money?

If people are partaking in a legal form of entertainment that Louisiana actually has an infrastructure to support, but chooses not to, Louisiana is losing out in significant amounts of money. It’s not just the gambling, it’s all the other entertainment dollars NOT being spent here but rather on the MS Gulf Coast.

No one casually betting games is doing it to get rich, they are doing it because it is fun

I think a lot of people are misreading Martiny's quote. He pushed for the legislation to pass and is saying the legislature is stupid for not getting it done because we're going to lose money. He's on our side.

I agree with u freedom wise. It just chaps my butt that people will let the politicians steal and divert OUR money without repercussions. JP just got new taxes because 15% of the people voted !!!! Go gamble on games that fine with me as I can place a couple of bets myself but vote the corrupt out. Lastly the only reason Louisiana will wait to make it legal is because the politicians have to make the deals and set up the corruption first. Perhaps they’ll offer limited licenses ! Imagine that !

I think a sports book at L'Auberge Baton Rouge would be pretty legit. I would probably spend a dime or 2 there.
