BR commuters jealous of bridges being built for animals.

In theory, Louisiana has several overpasses where “traffic passes over the wildlife,” although I don’t think it was for that purpose.

All the I-10 bridges, that pass over swampy sections facilitate the same purpose. Who would have thunk it, that the OT’s favorite spillway bridge has a secondary purpose.

how all the animals from miles around know to use the crossing ?

Believe it or not, animals are smarter than some humans

Sorry if a stupid question- but does anyone know how all the animals from miles around know to use the crossing ? If there arent barriers along the highway I mean, making the crossing the only option .

Fair question. I suspect that after some time and natural selection, they start to learn the safer routes.

They've had caribou crossings at the Alaskan pipeline for many years.

Houston is building one of these in Memorial Park. The double-lane boulevard tunnels underneath the huge 'land bridge'. I'm skeptical about how much wildlife is actually in that area, but it looks pretty cool watching them build it.

That’s why the causeway is built over the water instead of at the bottom of the lake like originally planned. It’s so the fish can cross

Baw set you up a box stand 100 yards (for legal purposes) off the road on either side of that thing. Boom. Profit.

I think that’s why they cancelled the tunnel at the foot of Canal. It would have disrupted the migration pattern of rats in the French Quarter.

They don't. This a feel good waste of money by people who think animals are considerate or humanities ideals.

They do a lot of work explaining the value of these thing and why something must be done to save the animals. They even cite insurance rates to help support and scare policy makers.

It is all nonsense emperor's new cloths stuff.
