Correct. The first to arrive on scene was the amber lamps. ??
Then I think she said she was the fire department but she isn’t 100% sure.

Then I arrived. Then the police arrived. Now. The police could have been there and left because they said they did drive around to search the area for the guy who fit the description. But how would they know the description without my wife yelling them? Idk. Remember I’m passing info from her which was a frantic situation at the time for her. I want to see that gosh dang tape.

The detectives choose to take up the case?!? That’s what I’ve been told. And then I understand they hand the case to the DA who then will file charges and prosecute if they choose to.

Completely unacceptable. There are police officers everywhere. I would want to know how many speeding or inspection sticker tickets they issued that day. It may shed light on their true priorities.

A normal organization, even a governmental one, would have to have performance indicators. Response time to different categories of calls should be important enough to track. This needs to be done by an independent entity.

You are completely justified in calling the "fricking" tape now. You should start blasting Racetrac on Twitter. For whatever reason companies are far more likely to fold to pressure once shite like this hits Twitter.

Weren’t you one of the ones repeatedly “calling bs” earlier in this thread? Not sure why you seem to have a hard on for OP. Either a troll or a POS.

I hope that next time something bad happens to you or your family, people call you a liar then tell you it’s your fault.

That picture of green hair girl (Angelle) has helped a lot. Someone saw the picture online and claims they were at that Racetrac at 6:30am and saw green hair standing there with a black guy at Racetrac. This new person said they would be glad to speak to a detective to describe and confirm the identity also.
So greenie was involved.

That would effectively happen when you merge the BRPD with the EBRSO. It would just be one big police force. I would like to see them adopt some aspects of BRPD, like civil service rules but other than that it would be under the Sheriff.

What's your NTRP rating?

Congrats on the making it to the Championship tourney!

I’m still just 3.5. No rating increases since December 2019 and it’s looking like there will be no rating bumps again this year. I play on both 3.5 and 4.0 teams and the competition is stiff since Covid froze ratings.

Very frustrating. We’ve won City Championships several times and I got to compete at state last year. Seem to play the same people every round so it’s starting to get stale. USTA needs to adjust ratings for areas that have continued competing through Covid.

Dang. I’m sorry to hear this happened.
I think you are right about police being under staffed and over worked. The biggest thing here was us not knowing the process. And instead of someone in BRPD actually explaining it to us it was more of “here is your number to call. Good luck”. It took us going to the station and speak with someone. That actually helped to understand the process. Although to us it’s the most important issue in the world. But to the BRPD it probably ranks on a lower scale to the outcome. It’s a sad truth but we at least recognize it. Doesn’t mean it’s right though.

Going to the station and talking directly to the detective is definitely the way to go. Street cops, operators, etc don’t know the big picture process and will either give you no info or the wrong info.

One thing I learned is that businesses will only release tapes to the police. You will never see those tapes unless the police or DA show them to you. That is who you should be hounding to get a look at it.

Detectives are assigned cases. They then “investigate” - gather evidence, speak to witnesses, put the pieces together. When they think they have it nailed down, they will present the case and evidence to the DA’s office who will then decide to prosecute, investigate further or decline prosecution. Ask your detective if your case has been presented to the DA’s office. If yes, hound both the DA and the detective for status updates. If no, ask why not and ride his arse until he gathers the pieces.

These detectives have desk loads of cases and yours may not be a priority right now. Time to be a squeaky wheel.

Sorry this happened to your wife and good luck!

There's cameras ALL OVER any place of business like that. Unless this a-hole was wearing a face covering?

It would be really inconsiderate to hit somebody over the head with a pipe without wearing a mask.

Well not much really. Racetrac handed the video over to the police. The police (detective) contacted us and said "the video was too dark. They didn't give us the right time of the incident." I called the Racetrac corporate contact to inform them. The Racetrac contact said, "We gave them about 1 hour before the incident which was dark and about an hour after which was indaylight so they could have enough footage."
Called the detectives back. No returned calls. This was two weeks ago. They will not return the calls. Let's face the real truth. Nothing will happen with this even with the tape in the BRPR detective's hand. A white woman who walked away from an attack and lived to tell the story doesn't have a chance to get justice when others are getting "kilt" every day in Baton Rouge. Sucks but life goes on. And they will NOT release the tape to us.

And yet, If something were to be done, they’d have the whole squad out there, probably the FBI and CIA, the mayor would praise the person who attacked your wife and condemn the one who sought justice.

We live in clown world, and the whole damn circus needs to burn.
