Only thing that would make me nervous is that new 8 or 9 speed auto transmission. From what I hear, it's the same company that makes the transmissions for Jeep Cherokee. Cherokees are a piece of shite, so that was enough to scare me off.

The 4 cyl is awesome and pretty quick, especially in sport mode. The 8 speed transmission is best in class.

The V6 is heavier, gets worse gas mileage and has pretty big transmission issues- look at Edmunds long term test for proof or go on some forums. The 9 speed ZF has problems.

I have driven the TLX 4 cyl as a loaner a couple of times and like it alot. I want my next car to be sportier and RWD so I dont plan on getting it, but I really like it.

Got an 07 TL base model with a V6 and love it. Don't ever want to drive a non- Acura again. Sound system is supreme, handling is a dream. Like someone said, make sure you get a Honda transmission. I love mine.

We have a 2008 Camry that we're replacing that has been good to us until lately. It now has an engine valve problem that is causing a significant oil consumption problem

If KYWildcat sees you posting this bad-mouthing Toyota, he'll drive by your house and shoot your porch light out.

I'm not a huge fan of the styling direction that Acura has gone but they are by no means just a rebadged Honda.

Thicker glass, more soundproofing material, higher quality leather/interior finishes, etc.

Keep in mind the Accord is Hondas flagship that is fighting for a price point that prohibits some of the upgrades the Acuras have.

Whether the upgrades are worth the money is up to you.

Honda/Acura have had problems lately and I don't believe they are quite the cars they used to be. I own 3 with over 100k miles and all have left me stranded several times. Most recently the 2008 Odyssey with a dead alternator at 107k. The VCM technology in the V6 is problematic at best. The jury is still out on the CVT transmissions.

I don't know who these people are that have Hondas that go 250k or more without major repairs, as that certainly hasn't been my experience. I will admit city driving on the roads of BR is not the best scenario for long term vehicle life.

Other nice sedan options:
Subaru Legacy
Toyota Camry
Honda Accord

Seems like she's into "badging" so go get an IS instead. The TLX is definitely a chick car though.

Have a TL Type-S that I have our oldest.
