And then shot his face off. Really committed to the thing

The guy had to shoot his car over a dozen times at point blank range, what if he caught a ricochet? What if he was crazy enough to actually shoot himself?

His stepdaughter (who he was raping) has told the story to anyone that was listening.

Bufford shot Pauline twice at their house, carried her body to the car, came back to grab her shoes, and drove off.

The TBI got the gun in the past year. They didn't dig her up for no reason.

Three of them? I applaud his tenacity to keep going after the first.

For the record, I don't care about Beaufort T. Justice or whoever he was. I've never seen Walking Tall (was that a Rock vehicle?)

I don't have any strong feelings one way or another for the dead man. I'm just saying spending all this time and money to maybe besmirch a dead guy in the eyes of some people...

You'd be better off making a movie about how he was evil instead of good or whatever I don't know his story. But this isn't exactly compelling.

You're clearly in the crowd that believes the legend he walked around with a big stick, because it was in the movies.

He took 1 shot to the jaw. If he had taken 3 there would be nothing left. Use some common sense.

I'm in the crowd who hasn't seen any movie, show, documentary, etc. on the whole damn thing. I remember a Rock movie existing but never saw it. I don't care.

I'm just a student of Occam's Razor baw. There are much easier ways to kill your wife, especially if you are a man in a powerful position, and none of them involve shooting her, and yourself, with your own gun and somehow making it look like a shootout with some mafia types.

I'll stay hanging, because I'm not gonna watch your buddy Bacon Alone's hit piece either.

The subject just isn't that interesting. A no nonsense cop was actually corrupt. News at 11.

Sure, unless you do it on impulse with no planning, knowing you can control everyone investigating after the fact.

His entire story of that night is complete bullshite. Amateurs can dismiss most of it. The TBI has gone to great lengths to verify it. It holds no water.

Wait until you see what he claimed about the car chase.100% impossible bullshite.

Several other aspects of the story are just straight lies. Why was he lying?

So what are you proposing happened, in detail?

That he shot her, transported her without anyone else seeing, then shot her a bunch more through the windshield, then shot himself, in he face, through the windshield , all with his own gun?

Please don't make me look up this case I'm not even remotely interested in

Probably the best take in this whole thread.

The only reason it's interesting is because Hollywood keeps remaking him as hero every 10 years or so.

It's a story, a trope, an archetype.

Never let the ugly truth get in the way of a good story.

I realize it might satisfy some teenager (or middle-aged man) to tell a kid that the Easter Bunny isn't real, but the story will remain nonetheless. It's not the first like it told, and won't be the last.

Common sense on this board sometimes makes me nervous.

I don't even have the energy to respond to this nonsense. Go look at some crime scene photos, and tell me what's wrong with your entire narrative.

Spoiler alert, there is only one small bullet hole through the windshield that came from the driver interior and went out.

Your narrative of the entire windshield being blown out is utter bullshite.

All you have to do is look at the photos. One bullet hole going out right around where your passengers furthest right AC vent would be.

It's pretty clear you haven't been following along. His stepdaughter, that he was raping heard two shots in their house and watched him carry her to the car, come back for her shoes, and drive off.

Check out her shoes in the crime scene photos based off that testimony.

Exactly. Looking for exit vs. entry wounds that I think would corroborate or refute Buford's account.

So if they decide he did it, what happens? They gonna dig him up and arrest him?

Wait now he was raping the stepdaughter while he shot her?

You need to work on explaining exactly what happened in detail.

So how did he get a dead body to actively bleed? Or is that all ketchup?

I still haven't done a deep dive on this thing and I'm not but it seems to be pretty elaborate for an impromptu thing, unless you are suggesting it was some grand setup.
