I hear what you’re saying, Havoc. I was most intrigued by the final few seconds, perhaps because I hate how little progress has been made in Nanette’s case.

Guns (plural) were found near Nanette, FBI is involved in the investigation per article on Nola.com today. For some reason, this site isn’t letting me post the link.

It was revealed a couple of days after her death that she was shot. Took a bit longer to say it was homicide (versus suicide).

Today’s update is the first I recall mentioning that firearms were found near her body and that there was more than one firearm.

FBI joins homicide investigation of Nanette Krentel, St. Tammany fire chief’s wife

Good! This is EXACTLY what needed to happen from the first day. The St Tam clowns didn't even secure the house and property after the fire which they should do when there is a death, murder or not.

I have been praying the feds would find a way to take over because they have all the resources, manpower and expertise. I said from the beginning that the Watson family they needed to get the feds involved somehow.

Now a TL;DR moment. I had a former student (age 11) and his mother, sister, baby brother and infant niece brutally attacked and the house they were in set on fire.

The crime was in Jefferson Parish before katrina and the trial was after Katrina. The POS was somehow acquitted and was free to live as he please.

BUT when a case "cries out for justice" the feds will do what they can to step in. In this case the family was living in govt subsidized housing.

So he was charged for the fire aka "Arson affecting interstate commerce" (or something like that). He was found guilty and got a life sentence.

PS the little brother of the murdered family is alive but a total vegetable from brain damage. If he were to die then the POS would get a murder charge.

I don't deny that, lol. But my stories are true. This is a very unique case because the killer was acquitted (state) and then charged (federal) again without it being double jeopardy.

Here is the link to the story about my student. His name was Cleveland. He was the kind of kid that the world needs more of. LINK

Board launches investigation into Nanette's husband for affair and stealing

Krentel admitted to the affair but said his wife was aware of it.

Williamson also accused Krentel of stealing air-conditioning units and damaging fire district property.

“We have specific instances that we have outlined and we would like a change in leadership,” said the complainant’s attorney Roy Burns.

The civil service board convened, then went into executive session and came back and announced their decision to launch the investigation. The decision was unanimous.

Krentel sat less than 10 feet away from members of his late wife's family but said nothing to them as the board voted to launch this new investigation

“I'm glad there will be an investigation but there's a sign there that says ‘don't let your dreams go up in smoke,’ and that's what happened to my sister,” said Amy Bernard, the sister of Krentel’s dead wife.

What thoroughly shitty humans Steve and his brother are.

My thoughts and prayers are with Nanette's loved ones and everything that they still have to go through.

We are just seeing the tip of the iceberg here.

ETA: LINK

"Williamson's letter included the following allegations:

Krentel was recorded on video removing fire department property on the night of Aug. 29. The property was air conditioning units acquired with medical vehicles for the department's now-defunct ambulance service.

The chief ordered personnel to remove identifying stickers on his fire department vehicle.

Krentel moved into the fire department's quarters, which could have put other firefighters at risk because of the unsolved homicide and the possibility that Krentel could be the next target.

The chief violated policy by determining what day he would return to work after taking sick/mental leave. Employees must be cleared by professionals in such cases.

Krentel said he was "taking names" and would retaliate against those who turned against him during his ordeal."

I don't mean to make light of this, but this is gonna make a good episode on one of those Investigative Discovery shows one day. It's got everything already and we don't even know who the killer is.

What are the odds of finding a gas can and a lighter at a residence? Gotta be basically nil.

If it is true she spoke to her family, friends, or attorney about it. If none of them can back it up, it is a lie.

Nanette's family has done an amazing job of pursuing justice. Nan was very much loved by her family and many friends.

Interesting that he was living at the firehouse. Why not go live with his mom (and brother B)? Surely his insurance would pay for a hotel and or apartment.

I know that Nanette's family suspected murder all along, but have they indicated who they suspect did it? Based on them not speaking to the husband at the hearing, they must have some kind of beef with him? Likely more than the affair
