I remember going into any gas station, restaurant, or bar and they were everywhere. What law changed?

They allowed local option and a lot of municipalities voted them out.

Each parish voted to determine if they were to be allowed or not. Some chose "not".

EBR Got rid of Video Poker years ago after approving them in 1991. I want to say late 90s we voted them out(I didn't!)
Alot of parishes still have them.

I'm not sure if anyone has said it yet, but I think power was given to the parishes to keep or remove them.

IIRC locals didn't get to vote on the casinos. They didn't get to vote on video poker at first either, but there was such a stink about it the lege allowed a retroactive vote.
Video poker is exceeded only by the lottery in trashiness.

Does anyone know if the parishes chose to keep or remove them?

What's the pay table on these machines? 6-4, 5-3 or worse?
